I cleared my head enough to
Spend the day naked
With a beautiful poet;
We didn’t touch.

When I came home I felt
Wonderful until I realized
I felt awful;
I cleared my head again
Not to doze in class.

The codeine settles over
And a brother emails a marketing job;
I am here to write.
I make slow progress and
Watch the days pass outside my window.
