RECOMMENDATIONS:
Plan a quick 3 day, hard hitting weekend of minimal sleep. I’d recommend the 11 p.m. arrival on Friday to the red-eye Monday morning return. This allows 3 full nights of exploring and a few guaranteed naps during the hours of mid-morning.

It matters not where you stay because the proximity, as long as you’re on the strip. On the other hand, once you start exploring, you may find you’re jealous of the potpourri scented Desert Palace if you’re going back to the stinky smoke-infested lounge of the Frontier.

If you look around, there are usually good deals at the mid-level hotels such as Excalibur, Tropicana, Imperial Palace, or Bally’s. If you want a younger crowd, go with Luxor, Hard Rock, Mandalay Bay or New York, New York. If you want top dollar luxury: Paris, Venetian, Alladin Desert Palace, The Palms, or the most reputable of them all, Bellaigo, or Caesars Palace.

Room rates will fluctuate heavily based on the season with November and December as the cheapest. Over one weekend even, you’ll probably pay differently for Thur, Fri, and Sat.

Like most hotels, they will charge extra for more than two people but once you get away from registration, they likely won’t notice the extra dozen people hopping on the elevator. Cram as many into a room as you’re comfortable with since chances are, if you do it right, you won’t spend much time there.
